WIN! Getting Started on the De Run Area Vision!

We are proud to announce that ECHO Urban Design, in collaboration with Depart, has been selected to develop the area vision for De Run business park in Veldhoven!
De Run is an important part of the Brainport region and an innovative business park that provides an attractive environment for high-tech manufacturing, innovative healthcare and locally oriented SMEs. Active efforts are underway to transform the existing site into an innovative and sustainable working environment.
To support these ambitions, the national government, the province, the region and private stakeholders are jointly investing in sustainable accessibility through a new HOV-4 high-quality public transport connection between Eindhoven Central Station and De Run. This mobility transition also creates opportunities to accommodate local and regional housing needs. The De Run area vision will incorporate approximately 3,000 new homes, creating a mixed, green and urban living-working environment that respects the area’s village identity and connects with the surrounding landscape.
De Run and its surroundings are characterised by strong contrasts. On the one hand, there is the village character, with its historic ribbon developments between Meerveldhoven and Veldhoven village centre. On the other side of the Kempenbaan are large-scale developments and growth areas, such as the ASML Campus and Máxima Medical Centre. This presents an opportunity to weave these different worlds together and bring local, regional and national ambitions into alignment. The aim is to create an attractive environment where people want to live, work and spend time.
