MILESTONE! New zoning plan for Malley Manufacture

On June 19, 2025, the Ville de Lausanne hosted an information evening about the new zoning plan for the development of Malley Manufacture – a major milestone in this remarkable urban transformation!

Together with BETA office for architecture and the city, ECHO Urban Design ECHO Urban Design developed the area vision, masterplan, and architectural design code that form the foundation for a mixed, inclusive, and high-quality urban district.

Over the coming years, Malley Manufacture will be transformed into a vibrant city quarter where culture, living, and working come together. To accommodate the expansion of the Haute École des Arts de la Scène, the City of Lausanne, in collaboration with SBB CFF FFS Immobilien and Regie CHAMOT & Cie SA, is developing a new neighborhood with around 170 affordable housing units, a thorough redesign of public space, and improved connections with the surrounding areas.

The new zoning plan was made available for public review in August 2025, marking the next step towards the realization of this extraordinary district!
